MODULAR HIGH-PASS ELECTRIC REMOTE CONTROLLED PLATFORMS

Student project of the National Technical University of Ukraine “Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute”
Project idea
Based on the experience and model of the student engineering group “Formula Student KPI” (https://formula.kpi.ua/) to develop the design of a modular electric remote-controlled platform KTGR for the transportation of goods and people (the main customer is the Armed Forces of Ukraine).
The basis of the platform is the drive modules of the frame structure with electric motor-wheels for fat bikes with improved airless tires, interconnected by a central supporting platform.
Project status and goals
• Prospective projects of ground robotic systems were analyzed and an own project concept was developed with the implementation of two platform options.

  • A design project of the platform was developed and a specification of purchased components and materials was drawn up, which made it possible to estimate the cost of the solution.
  • The budget of the project is UAH 1.1 million, which will be used for the production of 2 operational samples of the platform during the year and their testing in real conditions.
  • Part of the funding (UAH 700,000) for the implementation of the project have already been received as a result of victory in Horizon 2020 reimbursement program and additional financial assistance was received from the Winner company for the implementation of this project.

Implementation of the project will allow the Armed Forces of Ukraine to obtain a technical solution that will help in the fight against the enemy.
The Charitable Fund of Advanced Technologies starts UAH 350,000 fundraising for the implementation of the first stage of the project.

SATELLITE

(Satellite system of remote sensing of the Earth
with high spatial resolution)

As of February 24, 2022 Ukraine has only 2 satellites on Earth orbit. These microsatellites belong to NTUU “Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute” and provide information for scientific purposes.
Until now, Ukraine is completely dependent on the goodwill of foreign partners in providing space services.
One of the key sources of intelligence is space intelligence.
Automation of the process of analyzing the received information allows to instantly monitor current changes of all more or less important objects and to inform the command of the Armed Forces in the real time mode.
Accordingly, it allows to make the necessary tactical decisions promptly and, what is very important, it significantly reduces the reaction time to changes in the situation.
Currently, Ukraine does not have its own space platforms to be able to monitor targets 24/7.
The project goal is to create a national satellite constellation system consisting of six microsatellites used for remote sensing of the Earth and developed at Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute. It will allow online observation of the objects on the Earth’s surface from high of 500-700km.
The cost of developing a system of 6 microsatellites (without the cost of launching the devices into space) is approximately $18 million, which is much lower than foreign analogues.
The estimated cost of the project (manufacturing satellites + launching satellites into orbit + ground-based satellite control complex) is about $22 million.

Terms of project development:

    • • Production preparation – up to 4 months;
    • • Spacecraft manufacturing – 2 years;
    • • Launch into orbit – by agreement

Taking into consideration the peculiarities of the Ukrainian economic mechanism, it is advisable to carry out its financing by separate projects through a charitable fund.

We would like to inform you that the Charitable Fund of Advanced Technologies is starting to collect funds for the preparatory stage of the project, which amounts to 38 million UAH. гривень.
